Jonathan Maberry, the multi-hyphenate author whose work includes both adult and young adult novels, short stories, comic books and graphic novels, and plays in multiple genres (suspense, thriller, horror, fantasy, and action), is the keynote speaker at the 2024 Write Stuff Conference. The conference will be presented by the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group April 11-13, 2024, at the SureStay Plus Best Western Lehigh Valley. One of the premier writing events in the area, the Write Stuff Conference is open to writers in all genres and at all levels of publication—those unpublished to those with several writing credits.
Maberry is a five-time Bram Stoker Award winner, and his work has regularly appeared on the New York Timesbestsellers list. His long list of publishing credits includes over a dozen standalone novels and several series: the popular Joe Ledger series, the Pine Deep trilogy, and an epic fantasy series, Kagen the Damned. Maberry is the creator, editor, and author of V-Wars, a shared-world vampire anthology that was produced as a Netflix original series starring Ian Somerhalder (Lost, Vampire Diaries). His comics include Black Panther: DoomWar, The Punisher: Naked Kills, and Bad Blood. He is a board member of the Horror Writers Association and president of the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers. He lives in Del Mar, California.
Maberry is returning to the Write Stuff after several years. He will present two half-day workshops on Thursday, April 11: “The Novel: From Idea to Finished Manuscript” in the morning, and “People In Your Head: Creating Compelling Characters in Fiction” in the afternoon. On Saturday, he will present two workshops—“The Art of the Book Pitch” and “Research for Writers”—and offer words of wisdom gleaned from a successful writing career as a multi-genre author during his keynote presentation, “What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been: A Writer’s Journey.”
In addition to the half-day intensive workshops, the Write Stuff features appointment-only agent/editor pitch sessions, 14 breakout sessions on Saturday, networking opportunities, a book fair, and photo session appointments for author head shots with Lehigh Valley-based photographer Joan Zachary.
